Status Definitions

If a call sign appears in the status column then that indicates that the applicant was awarded the indicated call sign. If a call sign does not appear in the status column then it will contain a word or letters as defined below.

WordDefinition
ActiveThe requested call sign is currently an active call sign and the application will be denied by the FCC.
Child/etc. The application has been filed by a former holder of the call or close family member. As such the applicant is not subject to the two-year wait before applying for the call.
DeniedThe application was denied by the FCC.
WithdrawnThe applicant has withdrawn his application for this call sign.
Invalid The requested call sign does not adhere to the rules for currently available US call signs from which to choose, as explained on the FCC's "Call Sign Availability" web page, which for your convenience has been reproduced on this site. You can view these rules by clicking here.  The request for this call sign will be denied by the FCC.
In Wait The requested call sign is currently in the required two-year wait or the application was filed while the call sign was in the two-year wait and unless the applicant is a former holder the call sign will be denied by the FCC.
FCC Hold There are some call signs that for one reason or another the FCC decides they aren't going to process it anymore. Sometimes it's a ham who files a renewal but the FCC never grants it. They also never deny it. So it sits in a state of limbo. I contacted the FCC and they gave me a way of knowing which calls fall into this scenario and I have marked them appropriately. These calls should NOT be applied for even if they are long pasted the expired/cancelled two-year wait. They can't give it to anyone else because they technically haven't taken it away from the current/former holder.
Pending Application is in the Pending Level 2 phase of the application process, which simply means it is waiting for the required 18 to 20 day wait to be completed before final processing can occur. Please check the estimated process date column for when this should happen.
Unauthorized The call sign is unavailable to the applicant because the applicant does not possess the requesite license privileges necessary to qualify for the desired call. The application will be denied.
